Spring 2020 Scholars

Kendra Espiritu studies International Business/International Studies at New Mexico State University, known for its beautiful mountain ranges and hot green chile. She couldn’t be more excited to be studying at UAB in the Spring of 2020. “If I had to choose, I think I am most excited for really living the Spanish culture and traveling! I chose Barcelona SAE because it was the best program I found that perfectly aligned with my educational and future career goals.”

Dominic Occhiuzzo is a Business Management student at Florida Gulf Coast University. He is excited to engage in a new culture that has Spanish and Catalan values while exploring the great city of Barcelona. He,”chose Barcelona because it is a city that represents cultures of many different backgrounds and has something to offer for everyone.”

Trevaleyus Harris Jr. is a junior communication student at Albion College. One of the many things that he is excited about is experiencing Barcelona architecture in person. “I chose Barcelona SAE because they offer courses in English and provide small class sizes. Barcelona SAE also offers day trips and weekend excursions I’m most excited about these because I get to experience more of Barcelona and more of Spain.”

Samuel Restrepo is pursuing a B.S in Biology at Rhode Island College. What excites him the most regarding his future experience is that he will be able to be immersed in Barcelona’s rich culture. He, “chose to study abroad through Barcelona SAE because they gave me the extra confidence and support that I needed to embark on my study abroad experience.”

Fall 2019 Scholars

Zoe Hipp is majoring in International Studies with a minor in Spanish at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She will be participating in the SIS program while in Spain. Zoe is most excited to experience the culture in Barcelona. She chose Barcelona SAE, “Because it was specific to the city and has plenty of cultural activities that will help make sure I never experience a moment of boredom during my time abroad!”

Jesus Antonio Enriquez is a Senior at Carthage College and will be a TODOS scholar for Fall 2019. While in Barcelona he will be participating in the SIS+ Internship program. He is majoring in psychology with a focus in occupational therapy and a minor in sociology. Jesus is excited to intern at Barcelona in order to see some amazing architecture and experience a new culture.

Fall 2018 Scholar

Donovan Gayles is a junior at Susquehanna University and attended the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) during the Fall Semester of 2018. He is a double major in Political Science/Public Policy with a minor in Economics. He is an advocate for equality and civil rights and will be pursuing a career in the legal system serving as an attorney or employee of the federal government. Outside of the classroom, Donovan spends time in various clubs and activities such as SGA, Susquehanna Admissions, and track and field.
